8th grade Social Studies

This set of quests will take the reader through Pothos. While the adventure seems to start out just as a random adventure, the reader will soon take on a mission to find the secrets of Pothos. They will camp in numerous towns throughout Pothos before they reach the temple, where they will be led on a mission through the inside of the mountains.

The quests are listed in order of the story. They are designed for standard mastery so each quest covers different topics under each standard. To follow the story, the quests must be completed in order.

Standard 1: The student will analyze the foundations of the United States by examining the causes, events, and ideologies which led to the American Revolution

Standard 2: The student will examine key military and diplomatic events of the Revolutionary War that resulted in an independent nation.

Standard 3: The student will examine the formation of the American system of government following the Revolutionary War and the creation of the Constitution of the United States as the supreme law of the land. (Standard 3 is finished in standard 4 quest.)

Standard 4: The student will examine the political and economic changes that occurred during the Early Federal Period.

Standard 5: The student will analyze the political and geographic changes that occurred during the Jeffersonian Era.

Standard 6: The student will examine the political, economic and social transformations during the “Era of Good Feelings”.

Standard 7: The student will examine the political, economic and social transformations of the Jacksonian Era.

Standard 8: The student will examine the political, economic, social, and geographic changes that occurred during the period of westward expansion.

Standard 9: The student will analyze the social and economic transformations of the early nineteenth century.

Standard 10: The student will analyze major political, economic, and social events that resulted in the Civil War.

Standard 11: The student will analyze the course and consequences of the Civil War.

Standard 12: The student will analyze the political, social, and economic transformations during the Reconstruction Era to 1877.
